You won't find anything better if you want a natural, peaceful, private Pacific Northwest experience! Serenity awaits you. THE COMPASS ROSE HOUSE is one of three separate homes on over 20 acres, all with Olympic Mountain views. These secluded rentals offer you a haven to explore all the diversity the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. Roam our lush lupine covered meadows, languish by the ponds, see Bald Eagles and Blue Heron and access The Olympic National Park, just minutes away.

The The COMPASS ROSE HOUSE is carefully handcrafted and meticulously detailed. This beautiful home has commanding views of the Olympic Mountains and the large pond. The open plan with vaulted ceilings feels very roomy and open to nature while also being cozy. This charming cedar home is ideal for couples but can accommodate up to 8.

The master bedroom looks onto the Lupine Pond, a 1/2 acre fish-filled pond that reflects the mountain views and attracts a large variety of birds. An upstairs room, open to the lower level, and accessed by a 'ship's ladder', has a view of the pond and the lovely private, surrounding meadows.

Enjoy cooking in the deluxe kitchen, well equipped with all the cooking amenities, staples and spices and a gas stove, oven, large refrigerator and island. The bathroom with walk-in large tiled shower comes equipped with washer and dryer.

There is a wood stove with a glass door so you can watch the fire and curl up with a good book, or simply enjoy the comfort of the radiant heated floors.

The sliding glass doors open to a large deck where you can take in the awesome Olympic Mountains and the acres of natural, unspoiled meadows. Have a barbecue, watch the Bald Eagles as they dive for trout in the pond. Gaze at the stars at night, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, roam the meadows or take an adventure into Olympic National Park.

THE COMPASS ROSE HOUSE can also be rented for groups along with our other two cabins.

Ten minutes away are Sequim and Port Angeles, the world’s longest sand spit, the ferry to Victoria, B.C., Canada and the entrance to Olympic National Park, where the road to Hurricane Ridge takes you to a stunning view of active glaciers in the Olympic Mountains.

Within minutes you can venture into the moss-covered rain forest, enjoy a pristine glacier-carved lake, hike hundreds of miles of wilderness trails with crystal clear rivers and majestic waterfalls, be awed by the sandy rugged beaches, and soak in natural hot springs.

Whether you are a nature lover who likes to kayak, surf, fish, spot birds, watch whales, bike or hike the trails, or someone who is searching for a perfect quiet natural setting, here you will find your heart’s desire.

The Compass Rose House is THE place to stay if you’re visiting the Olympic Peninsula! The peaceful meadow (with pond) where the home is located offered stunning views of the mountains as well as a few visits from local wildlife (deer, rabbits, geese). We loved having dinner out in the deck as the sun was setting. The home provides every comfort you will need in an open floor plan with a soaring ceiling and big windows to enjoy every view. The beds were comfortable and everything was extremely clean and organized. Suzann even welcomed us with her delicious chocolate cookies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope that we have the opportunity to visit again someday!

Amazing Stay at the Compass Rose House

My partner and I enjoyed celebrating his birthday at the lovely Compass Rose House. Booking was easy and pleasant, and we arrived to a clean and vibrant space well stocked with everything we could possibly need for a couple nights away. We enjoyed time around the fire pit with fantastic views of the Olympics, relaxing in the hot tub, and fishing at the pond. Olympic View Cabins offer a fantastic, private, relaxing vacation spot that I highly recommend. We can't wait to go back!

Absolute Perfection!

The Compass Rose House was a perfect home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge, the dungeoness spit and the Port Angeles/Victoria ferry terminal are all within very easy driving distance. The home has breathtaking views of the Olympics, which you can enjoy from inside the home with its large windows and spacious great room, or from its deck, hot tub or fire pit area. The owners are delightful to work with and the home is exceptionally well maintained. Put this place on your shortlist!

Enjoyed our stay

Stayed for two nights after Xmas. Very nice and clean and quite. Sits on a semi private acre or two with trees and field around and no direct view of the other cabins. Having owned a cabin or two ourselves in the NW this is close to what I would build. Now we just rent when we want one. Note that the upstairs loft bedroom has nearly straight up stairs. My wife looked up there but I did not as I had a sore shoulder so keep that in mind. Fully equipped great room kitchen and a great wood stove and plenty of firewood. Never had to call the owner for any help with things. Didn't use the internet connection. We got good directions for getting there and it was easy to find in the daytime and at night once you've been there (i.e. its about 3 miles off the highway on a nice country road. The nearby town has everything you might want for shopping and eating out. If you live in the city or crowded burbs this is a nice example of country living. They didn't allow pets but if I was a Lab with my own boy to play with I wouldn't want to leave :) Had no problem working with owner via email and paying on line with a charge card. Just noting as this is our first time with a private owner for a place we had never seen like this and that is not a hotel chain.

Beautiful, spacious cabin for family at OVC wedding

We recently rented the Olympic View Cabins grounds and all three cabins for our wedding. OVC was the perfect place to spend quality time with our guests and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Olympic Peninsula. We had stayed at the Compass Rose house when we got engaged and quickly realized that this luxurious cabin, the mountain views, and wildflower meadows would serve as a wonderful location to say our vows. Suzann was an absolute joy to work with throughout the whole process. We comfortably housed the groom's family in the Compass Rose, serving as a slightly removed location for guests to retreat to after the festivities and enjoy a campfire and hot tub. The steps upstairs were a bit tricky for the older family members so the younger couples stayed up top. Everyone appreciated the large kitchen to prepare family lunch, and enjoyed the quiet porch for some early morning reading. The area around the cabin also served as an ideal location for guests to set up tents and an RV. We really hit the jackpot with OVC and recommend it for anyone who wants a relaxing wedding weekend focused on community and nature.

Charming cabin with a stellar view and all the finer details covered

I rented the cabin for out of town guests, but found it so charming I decided to stay there as well during their stay! The cabin is so well appointed, and very welcoming. We especially enjoyed sitting by the warm wood fire stove and looking out at the deer playing in the yard. The hot tub was heaven after a long day of hiking the near by trails in the Olympics. Every detail of this little treasure was well thought out, and the location was perfect. I look forward to staying again as new guests come to explore the beauty of the Olympic peninsula.

Compass rose house

My wife and I have been renting cabins for over 20 years through out Washington on both sides of the Cascades and the Compass house has got to be one of , if not our favorite. The owners Suzann an Martin are close enough to serve you if you need anything and far enough away to never see them if you don"t , and they are a pleasure to work with and take pride in their cabins. The beauty here is a piece of heaven on earth from the majestic mountain views from the living room ,deck, as well as the hot tub. The wood burning fireplace with wood provided was a extra bonus. Beautiful meadows, ponds to fish if your feeling lucky , and deer that like to check you out that stroll through. You will not regret staying here we are already planning our next trip back
