These secluded rentals offer you a haven to explore all the diversity the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. Roam our lush lupine covered meadows, see Bald Eagles and Blue Heron and access The Olympic National Park, just minutes away.

The Compass Rose House is carefully handcrafted and meticulously detailed. This beautiful home has commanding views of the Olympic Mountains and a large pond. The open plan with vaulted ceilings feels very roomy and open to nature while also being cozy. This charming cedar home is ideal for couples but can accommodate up to 6 people.

The master bedroom with a queen bed, desk and dresser is downstairs. It has a pond view and private entrance to the en suite. The upstairs room, open to the lower level, accessed by a ship's ladder stairs, has a queen bed, 3 single beds and a view of the private surrounding meadows. The ships ladder is a steep stairway and is not recommended for for younger children or the elderly. Please see the pictures before booking.

Enjoy cooking in the deluxe kitchen, well equipped with all the cooking amenities, staples and spices and a gas stove, oven, large refrigerator and island.

The bathroom with walk-in large tiled shower comes equipped with washer and dryer.

There is a wood stove, firewood provided with a glass door so you can watch the fire and curl up with a good book, or simply enjoy the comfort of the radiant heated floors.

The sliding glass doors open to a large deck where you can take in the awesome Olympic Mountains and the acres of natural, unspoiled meadows. Have a barbecue, watch the Bald Eagles , gaze at the stars at night, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, roam the meadows or take an adventure into Olympic National Park.

The Compass Rose House can also be rented for groups along with our other two cabins.

Ten minutes away are Sequim and Port Angeles, the world’s longest sand spit, the ferry to Victoria, B.C., Canada and the entrance to Olympic National Park, where the road to Hurricane Ridge takes you to a stunning view of active glaciers in the Olympic Mountains.

Within minutes you can venture into the moss-covered rain forest, enjoy a pristine glacier-carved lake, hike hundreds of miles of wilderness trails with crystal clear rivers and majestic waterfalls, be awed by the sandy rugged beaches, and soak in natural hot springs.

Whether you are a nature lover who likes to kayak, surf, fish, spot birds, watch whales, bike or hike the trails, or someone who is searching for a perfect quiet natural setting, here you will find your heart’s desire.

Depending on the season a extra charge may be applied for each extra person over the first four guests.

Great Spot

Compass Rose House definitely lived up to its reviews. The house was clean, well furnished, quiet and close to ONP and served as a great jumping off spot for our two days. I would highly recommend the Compass Rose House for anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable spot to enjoy all the OP has to offer

Stunning Home!

An absolutely beautiful spot for our base while exploring the Olympic Peninsula. The house is stunning - photos on website don’t do it justice! Everything you need is available. One of the most comfortable spots we have ever stayed. Book it today - you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect getaway

The Compass Rose house is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Incredible amenities - fireplace, hot tub, and beautiful mountain views! It made for a very cozy stay. The owners have really thought through everything guests might need! We'd love to come back in warmer weather so we can explore more of the hiking trails around the Olympic National Forest.

Love this spot…

This was our second time staying at The Compass Rose. It is a great spot with a fantastic view. We used it as our home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Everything has been thought out by the hosts for an easy stay. Everything you may need is there for you. Enjoyed watching all of the deer… especially the two babies and their mom. Only wish we would’ve been able to spend more time relaxing at the cabin. Our 12 and 17 year old really enjoyed the hot tub. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We are so rewarded by these lovely reviews. To have our delightful guests want to come back and enthusiastically enjoy makes us feel that what we are doing is good. We appreciate hearing that this was a happy experience for this family.

Excellent quality in every way

The Compass Rose House is a beautiful home in a secluded area. Our group loved the unique design and and features of the house. The features throughout the house were of excellent quality and kept in clean condition! All too often rentals, even high end mansion style ones, will have dirty dishes, dust covered parts of rooms, or dusty blinds. But this place was spotless and all the kitchen gear was clean! We also loved the heated floors, abundant firewood for the fireplace, and exceptional hot tub! The rug in the living room is somewhat of a hassle in that it is hemp and the fibers get all over your socks. So bring a lint roller if you don't want fibers getting all over your clothes when you pack up at the end of your stay! Otherwise it's a lovely rug :) Also be aware that the "stairs" to the top level are a hybrid of stairs and a ladder. So if you have mobility issues and need to go upstairs, I wouldn't recommend doing so. My friends and I have decided that this is going to be the cabin we use for our annual gatherings as it checks off a lot of our boxes as far as rentals go! Plus Suzanne was a delight to book though.

This review makes all the love and care and attention we put into our home so worthwhile. A compliment like this helps us know we have happy and pleased guests.

Your own mountain hideaway

We previously lived in Sequim and have older children who live in Washington. We stayed at Compass Rose House based on recommendations from friends. We stayed for three weeks to reunite with family and friends and reexplore favorite haunts and events. We had our own piece of the countryside with beautiful views and privacy and never tired of the mountain views. The property is large with lots of possibilities for outdoor socializing (including a hot tub). The house itself is well equipped, well stocked and very clean. The owners are very friendly, helpful and responsive. Highly recommended.

Perfect getaway

I couldn’t believe how well thought out everything about the Compass rose house was! Anything you need is already there. The place is so private and peaceful. Loved the hot tub and the fireplace. We roasted marshmallows and enjoyed watching the deer! My grown daughter loved the loft. The bed was comfortable. The shower was nice. The cookies were delicious. Suzann communicated above and beyond and gave us great tips for our travel Into the park. We hope to make it back here again!! Thank you Suzann!

This review is our ultimate compliment and affirmation for the love and care we put into our homes. We love nothing more than to know we have contributed to joy and happiness and inspiration for our guests.

Incredible Stay

Could not have more great things to say about the Compass Rose House. Me and 2 other friends spent 2 nights here and it was beautiful to wake up in the morning and look out at the mountains. The little pond in the back is also very serene. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need for a little getaway and the amenities are very nice. Suzann is very quick and responsive. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Beautiful, peaceful cabin

The compass rose cabin is absolutely beautiful and the setting is so peaceful. My teenager loved the privacy and novelty of the loft as well as the fast WIFI. The kitchen was well appointed with anything you would need but there are also many great restaurants nearby in both Sequim and Port Angeles. The cabin was very clean. We enjoyed hanging out in front of the fire. Sitting in the hot tub and looking at the stars and mountains was the absolute best. It was an easy drive to different places in Olympic NP. We hope to be able to stay again!

How gratifying it is to learn of happy and satisfied guests. It gives us faith that the love and care we put into our homes is really worthwhile.
